I am currently seeking an Senior Research Assistant in Hertfordshire, Please see below.


I am currently working with one of the top ten global biotechnology companies to watch in 2020, who have real focus on the development and commercialization of unique gene therapies to change lives. They have a strong pipeline with two clinical trials ongoing, where one trial has just moved into phase 3. This allows my client to have a real chance to change the lives of patients by providing directed gene therapy as a life long and potentially curative treatment.

You will be given the freedom to execute research, such as planning, organising and performing various in vivo experiments to assess the efficacy of AAV constructs. Furthermore, you will be part of a multi diverse team performing immunological, molecular and cell biology techniques including splenocyte antigen recall, ELISAs, qPCR, enzyme activity assay and primary immune cell isolation and culture from a variety of sources. You will be a senior member in the lab providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues.





ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Have experience working on Small animals- Animal license holder (PIL). Must be able to perform tasks such as: animal handling, administration of test agents through ip, iv, sc, blood collection, necropsy


You will need strong desire and aptitude to take a co-lead role on current/future programs. While also, playing a key role in the laboratory, providing guidance to junior staff while ensure effective running of the laboratory.

Demonstrated ability to perform routine analytical tests with RNA, DNA and protein samples to include q-PCR, Western blot, ELISA, enzyme activity assays

Maintenance of detailed records of experimental protocols and data in laboratory notebooks in accordance with company policy.

Analysis, interpretation and report experimental results in small group settings and company-wide meetings.

Compliance with inventory maintenance including non-clinical samples, plasmids, cells and vectors


Requirements


BSc/MSc in a relevant biological discipline or equivalent level of professional qualifications with at least three years of Laboratory experience

Experience designing in vivo experiments to assess the efficacy of AAV constructs is desired.

Skilled in design, organization and execution of in vivo studies, collection and analysis of readouts and generation of timely reports.

Skilled in standard immunological, molecular and cell biology techniques including splenocyte antigen recall, ELISAs, qPCR, enzyme activity assay and primary immune cell isolation and culture from a variety of sources.

Ability to priorities work across multiple projects and respond effectively as priorities changes
