I am currently seeking a Team Leader of Molecular Biology in Munich, please see below.



VOLT is currently partnered with one of the top Gene Therapy companies globally who have real focus on the development and commercialization of unique gene therapies to change lives. They have a strong pipeline with two clinical trials ongoing, where one trial has just moved into phase 3. This allows my client to have a real chance to change the lives of patients by providing directed gene therapy as a life long and potentially curative treatment.





ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:





This position will involve yourself playing a vital role in the management and development of a growing team of research assistants, engineers and scientists in their laboratory.


You will be tasked on the development and qualification of molecular biological methods for release, stability testing and product characterization of AAV vectors in the preclinical phase.


Being a primary point of contact for internal departments and external partners (CROs) at home and abroad, including technical support for validation and release testing under GMP regulations.


Oversee the establishment of new DNA analytics platforms to complete my clients analytics portfolio


You must have the skillset to be able to train, coach and mentor of junior scientists to ensure a continuous improvement environment.




REQUIREMENTS:

Proven management experience in research settings.


Extensive experience in gene therapy, cell therapy or biologics with a focus on molecular biological analysis


In-depth experience in qPCR / ddPCR for the absolute and relative quantification of nucleic acids is essential


Experience in qualification, validation and the transfer of analytical methods to external partners as well as an understanding of working in the GMP area


Further knowledge in the field of DNA analysis (electrophoretic methods, HPLC, SEC, blotting techniques, NGS) as well as initial knowledge of working with viral vectors are an advantage


Willingness to travel to partners in Europe and the USA


Fluent German and English required
