Senior Data Scientist - Machine Learning required for a leading Technology company based in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

The role is based on-site twice a week so please consider this before applying

Senior Data Scientist will provide technical help and advice to Data Science Team Members on individual projects, that will help discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help make smarter decisions to deliver even better products. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products. Ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget, whilst developing traditional and cutting-edge machine learning and feature extraction algorithms on current and future products in cash validation. This is primarily research with some implementation

Essential:
*Excellent knowledge of current cutting-edge Data Science/Machine Learning algorithms.
*A degree in either Maths, Computational Science, Computer Science or Physics (Masters or PhD preferred).
*Experience of developing and implementing algorithms.
*4-5 years industry experience in a commercial setting.
*Knowledge of a Data Science prototyping language such as Python.
*Experience of undertaking research.
*Adaptability to changing work conditions.
*Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
*Data science techniques, including:
oDimension reduction techniques
*Programming languages, including:
oPython, C++ programming
oPython Libraries such as Scikit-Learn, Numpy and/or Scipy,

Desirable:
*Team management, particularly in a software development environment.
*Familiarity with Linux.
*Databases including SQL and Cassandra.
