I am currently working with one of the top ten global biotechnology companies to watch in 2020, who have real focus on the development and commercialization of unique gene therapies to change lives. They have a strong pipeline with two clinical trials ongoing, where one trial has just moved into phase 3. This allows my client to have a real chance to change the lives of patients by providing directed gene therapy as a lifelong and potentially curative treatment.
Responsibilities:
The main focus of the position relates to work on strategies for optimizing the rAAV vector yield and quality by optimizing our rAAV production plasmids and production cells
Application of molecular biological methods such as qualitative and quantitative PCR, cloning and characterization of plasmid DNA
Applying biochemical methods such as performing simple purification procedures for AAV-based gene therapy vectors, immunoassays (ELISA) and blotting techniques
Application of cell biological methods such as cell culture and transient transfection of eukaryotic cell lines for the production of recombinant AAV vectors on a laboratory scale, as well as transductions
GxP-compliant documentation and evaluation of experiments
Laboratory organization tasks, such as device responsibility and material procurement
Requirements
Completed vocational training for BTA, MTA or CTA or a comparable qualification and preferably at least five years of professional experience, ideally in the industrial field
Professional experience, especially in research and development, is desirable, but not a prerequisite
Previous knowledge in the creation of work instructions, protocols and reports as well as in the GxP-compliant documentation
Experience in virology especially with viral vectors and with work under biological safety level 2 is desirable, but not a prerequisite
Experience in the field of protein biochemical, cell and molecular biological techniques
Enjoy learning and applying new methods and technologies independently
