Key Responsibilities for the role:
*Participate in requirements gathering and design of processes and services to acquire, store, process, and provision data in support business use cases.
*Administrate, monitor, and maintain all infrastructure, services and processes directly used in the acquisition, processing, and provisioning of data into and out of the EDW.
*Support business end-users and their applications in utilising the data platform by providing expertise and insight in a consultative manner and by ensuring the necessary platform mechanisms to support end-user use cases are in place and appropriately configured.
*Document end-user training and reference materials specific to the provisioning and presentation methods provided by the data platform (these being SQL query endpoints and Tableau Server).
*Communicate any changes or updates effectively with all data and data system users (methods and channels of communication to be specified in consultation with the organisation).
Key Skills / Experience
*Mid Level BI Engineer
*5+ years in a hands-on BI or data engineering role.
*Dimensional modelling and implementation within an enterprise data warehouse.
*3+ years in designing and administering enterprise data warehouses.
*Experience with cloud platforms, preferably with the following AWS services (or their equivalent on other cloud platforms):
*Redshift, Athena, Glue, EC2, Lambda
Experienced with DevOps concepts such as:
*Infrastructure as code and the practical implementation thereof with tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
*Version control systems such as git, and integration with CI/CD toolchains, such as CodePipeline or Jenkins
*Experience with Tableau, Tableau Server administration and maintenance of data sources and users.
*Python and shell scripting (bash, zsh, etc.).
*Comfortable working with Linux and on the command line
